Coastal Odyssea was born from a love of the ocean, photography and the wild places that keep calling us back.

What started with photographs of the WA coastline has evolved into a collection of limited edition designs and ocean goods, turning moments captured through our lens into pieces you can take with you, wear, explore with and keep. Every design is created from our own photography and made to celebrate adventure, nature and the places we love.

Funny how much our perspective can change as we grow.

When I was younger, the idea of working for myself sounded like the most stressful thing in the world. I wanted the security of a job, a set routine and someone else to tell me what needed to be done.

Now, I think so differently.

The older I get, the more I value my time, my freedom and being able to choose where I put my energy.

Building a business isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes it’s sitting on the floor setting up storage for stock 🤪 but there’s something pretty special about knowing that the time I’m putting in is building something that’s ours.

Funny what a few years can do to your idea of what you actually want out of life 🤎🌊

A little behind the scenes of something that is VERY new territory for us 👀

This is the first time we’ve outsourced the manufacturing of a product, found our own manufacturers and taken a product from our own designs all the way through to production.

And now I’m sitting here going through every single piece individually… checking the quality, the finish, the details, the little things you probably wouldn’t even notice, because if it’s going to have the Coastal Odyssea name on it, I want to know I’m genuinely happy with it before it reaches you.

It’s definitely been a learning curve, and one thing we’re realising very quickly is just how much goes on behind the scenes of creating a physical product.

I’m curious though…

For those of you who run product based brands, do you personally check your products before launch? Or do you have a quality control process/team in place?

Would genuinely love to hear how other small brands do this because we’re learning as we go 🤍
